SimCity is finally being released for Mac on Aug. 29, five months after being released for PC, EA announced Monday.
The newest city-building game from EA and Maxis will be a cross-platform game, which means gamers who downloaded it for PC will be able to get a Mac copy for free through Origin, EA's download service.
SimCity, also known as Micropolis or SimCity Classic, is a city-building simulation video game developed by Will Wright and released for a number of platforms from 1989 to 1991. SimCity was supposed to be available for Mac starting June 11, but the release was delayed for two months. The PC version came out March 5. The game sports a new engine that Maxis said would give each SimCity resident its own life and direction.
